Thurs - 2.2 Equivalent Expressions (looked at how we can do quadratic regression using data on our graphing calculators.) HW is 2.2. Friday will include time to check & question the homework from this week.

Fri - Formative Assessment on IF2, IF6 in representing functions in multiple ways and using sequences to model situations. I forgot to handout payday money due to the irregular schedule. Payday Monday!!

Mon - Today we looked at number sequences to sort patterns by linear and non-linear. Be ready for tomorrow to look at their graphs and make more connections. Assigned HW Unit 0 #11... Unit 0
Tues - Assigned HW Unit 0 #12, discussed more about arithmetic & geometric sequences.
Wed - Today we finished sequence notes for explicit and recursive. Check out the slides and the homework solutions.
Thurs - Sequence Escape Game! Make sure you have your Escape Game HW ready. After the game, start a Google Doc and include your finish time and other thoughts as described in Google Classroom. Turn in the Google Doc there before class Friday!
Fri - Started Complex numbers, the first target of Unit 1 Quadratics. I assigned HW problems 2, 3, and 5 from 1.1 Complex Numbers HW.

Tues - Finished 1.1 on simplifying Complex Number expressions. Make sure 1.1 HW is complete & checked.
Wed - 1.2 Notes on how quadratic equations calculate, looking at patterns in the numbers and the shape of the graph. 1.2 HW is completing the foldable in your notebook on pg 44-45
Thurs - 1.3 Notes on transformations of parabolas - what makes it shift horizontally, vertically? What makes it stretch or compress vertically? What makes it reflect vertically? What makes it stretch or compress horizontally? HW 1.3, answers posted in classroom. Need to reassess on any IF targets? See me with a plan for next week.
Fri - Transformation Scavenger Hunt - how well do you know transformations in vertex form? Work with a partner to learn more and see what you need to see.

Mon - Create a Kanban folder for yourself. Set up your Interactive Note Book (INB)
Tues - Work in teams to solve puzzles. Evaluate Functions. Notes and Assignment are on the Unit 0 page. Update INB with these notes.
Wed - Check here for available jobs to apply for in our classroom economy.
Job applications due Friday! Discussed function vocabulary and how to use a function. Assignment is HW 0.1 #1-4 to be completed on INB page 14. Attach the HW half sheet on that same page as a flap.
Thurs - Discussed how to use a graphing calculator, exploring features with a linear equation. Students completed a linear equation with a table and a graph. Assignment is HW 0.2 #1 & 2 only (doing the others later) and making a table and a graph for their team-assigned radical function.
Fri - Discussed Domain & Range, reviewed solving equations. Finished HW 0.2 in teams. Assigned these slides INSTEAD of HW 0.3 and prepare for a quiz Tuesday on solving equations.
Week of August 26th
Mon - 0.4 Notes, using the graphing calculator for important points, data, multiple representations. Updated 19 a little, please check notes on these slides to add to page 21. Assigned Unit 0 HW #3 in class to finish at home as needed, and assigned Unit 0 HW #4 to be completed in pages 20/21 with the related topic for today.
Tues - Quiz on LF.1, Solving algebraic and literal equations. Started the topic 0.5 today with plans to finish tomorrow. Do your best to model any patterns with an equation. Assigned HW Unit 0 #5. Jobs in our classroom economy will be given out tomorrow as well.
Wed - Catch-up day, worked in groups to complete HW 4 & 5, finished Classroom Economy job assignments, handed back first quiz, finish data table, graph, and investigation on making paper boxes.
Thurs - First payday! $750 for being an exemplary student this month. I recommended your name on the envelope, but putting your job and job description on it may be a good idea to remind you of your duties. You want to make sure you get paid by doing as described.
We worked on 0.6 notes (update your INB with my last page in these slides) shapes of graphs, families of functions, and key terminology in the functions we have been investigating. Introduced "asymptote" lines. Finish data table for f(x) = 1/(x-2) and complete HW #6 by only doing problems 1, 3, 4, and 5b.
Fri - We took Unit 0 Formative Assessment in class and an answer key was sent with you to check for details and think through any gaps in understanding. Complete this Google Form to help me plan for Tuesday. 0.7 Notes on Families of Functions should be mostly completed for Tuesday, as well as 0.7 HW. We will briefly discuss 0.7 and spend most of the time on thinking through issues in preparation for the Unit 0 Assessment.

Thurs - Sequence Escape Game! Make sure you have your Escape Game HW ready. After the game, start a Google Doc and include your finish time and other thoughts as described in Google Classroom. Turn in the Google Doc there before class Friday!
Fri - Started Complex numbers, the first target of Unit 1 Quadratics. I assigned HW problems 2, 3, and 5 from 1.1 Complex Numbers HW.

Mon - No School
Tues - Finished 1.1 on simplifying Complex Number expressions. Make sure 1.1 HW is complete & checked.
Wed - 1.2 Notes on how quadratic equations calculate, looking at patterns in the numbers and the shape of the graph. 1.2 HW is completing the foldable in your notebook on pg 44-45
Thurs - 1.3 Notes on transformations of parabolas - what makes it shift horizontally, vertically? What makes it stretch or compress vertically? What makes it reflect vertically? What makes it stretch or compress horizontally? HW 1.3, answers posted in classroom. Need to reassess on any IF targets? See me with a plan for next week.
Fri - Transformation Scavenger Hunt - how well do you know transformations in vertex form? Work with a partner to learn more and see what you need to see.

Mon - Create a Kanban folder for yourself. Set up your Interactive Note Book (INB)
Tues - Work in teams to solve puzzles. Evaluate Functions. Notes and Assignment are on the Unit 0 page. Update INB with these notes.
Wed - Check here for available jobs to apply for in our classroom economy.
Job applications due Friday! Discussed function vocabulary and how to use a function. Assignment is HW 0.1 #1-4 to be completed on INB page 14. Attach the HW half sheet on that same page as a flap.
Thurs - Discussed how to use a graphing calculator, exploring features with a linear equation. Students completed a linear equation with a table and a graph. Assignment is HW 0.2 #1 & 2 only (doing the others later) and making a table and a graph for their team-assigned radical function.
Fri - Discussed Domain & Range, reviewed solving equations. Finished HW 0.2 in teams. Assigned these slides INSTEAD of HW 0.3 and prepare for a quiz Tuesday on solving equations.
Week of August 26th
Mon - 0.4 Notes, using the graphing calculator for important points, data, multiple representations. Updated 19 a little, please check notes on these slides to add to page 21. Assigned Unit 0 HW #3 in class to finish at home as needed, and assigned Unit 0 HW #4 to be completed in pages 20/21 with the related topic for today.
Tues - Quiz on LF.1, Solving algebraic and literal equations. Started the topic 0.5 today with plans to finish tomorrow. Do your best to model any patterns with an equation. Assigned HW Unit 0 #5. Jobs in our classroom economy will be given out tomorrow as well.
Wed - Catch-up day, worked in groups to complete HW 4 & 5, finished Classroom Economy job assignments, handed back first quiz, finish data table, graph, and investigation on making paper boxes.
Thurs - First payday! $750 for being an exemplary student this month. I recommended your name on the envelope, but putting your job and job description on it may be a good idea to remind you of your duties. You want to make sure you get paid by doing as described.
We worked on 0.6 notes (update your INB with my last page in these slides) shapes of graphs, families of functions, and key terminology in the functions we have been investigating. Introduced "asymptote" lines. Finish data table for f(x) = 1/(x-2) and complete HW #6 by only doing problems 1, 3, 4, and 5b.
Fri - We took Unit 0 Formative Assessment in class and an answer key was sent with you to check for details and think through any gaps in understanding. Complete this Google Form to help me plan for Tuesday. 0.7 Notes on Families of Functions should be mostly completed for Tuesday, as well as 0.7 HW. We will briefly discuss 0.7 and spend most of the time on thinking through issues in preparation for the Unit 0 Assessment.
